PT for Torque
Our vet told Hope that she should strengthen Torque’s thighs and have him bend his knees more. Torque is a 4-year-old French Bulldog. Hope has been training Torque to sit with his back legs on the Step (squat) and then back up so he can sit with his front legs on the Step (crouch). She just lured the position a couple of times then waited for Torque to figure it out.
Simon is learning to learn
Simon already knows lots of fun things to do with a box (and get rewarded). Now he’s learning to pick up a spoon and put it in that box. Notice that Fran clicks and rewards Simon for first checking out the spoon, then putting his mouth on it, and finally for picking it up. He still doesn’t quite have the hang of putting it in the box without getting into the box himself, but we’ll get there! This session was just a little over a minute.
Teddy learned to put his toys away – 2 minutes at a time!
With positive reinforcement, science-based training, you can train your dog to do (practically) anything! Why did Hope train Teddy to put his toys away? Because it’s fun!
Booker Loves His Crate
Your dog’s crate is NOT punishment for them! Our dogs love their crates. It’s where so many good things happen. Read more! https://2-minute-trainer.com/category/crate-training/
What can Teddy do with a box?
While this may seem like a pointless exercise, it teaches your dog to try different things. No behavior in this exercise is wrong. Teddy is learning to think!
Engage the brain – and the nose! Play the Shell Game
Notice that Booker is on his mat. Once your dog knows his “place,” that place becomes a very convenient starting point for other behaviors!
Teddy tricks – “Roll Over!”
If your dog has an arsenal of tricks, you (and he) will never be bored!
Torque bowls!
Our agility instructor calls Torque “bowling ball.” So Hope set out to prove that!
